About us

The Family business was founded in 1860, in Lwow by great-grandfather, namely Jan Rozwadowski. This territory, known then as Galicia was under Austrian occupation. The family and business moved to Krakow in 1918, when Poland gained it’s independence. The business flourished and regularly supplied the beautiful and elegant coffee shops of Vienna, until the outbreak of the 2nd world war in 1939. Circumstances drove the family to Rybnik, in the Silesian region of Poland, where Edward’s father - also Edward eventually set up his own bakery/patisserie. Edward trained and worked along side his Father and studied to gain his “Master Patissier Diploma”, He was very fortunate to learn many authentic and traditional recipes and skills, which sadly have since been either lost or forgotten by many. Edward and wife Elizabeth set up Elizabeth's Patisserie in 1987.

All of our products are hand made using traditional methods at our local bakery in Nottingham, offering a variety of speciality and Polish continental breads, such as Rye, Sour Dough, Pumpkin Seed, Sunflower Seed, Olive breads and many more. We also offer a selection of cakes and pastries; a variety of tasty Baked curd cheesecakes with either blueberries, apricots, mixed fruit, or sultanas. Aswell as a number of different Danish Pastries, Poppy seed plaits, Sultana twists, Polish Doughnuts filled with jam or a brandy custard, teacakes and many other tasty treats to tingle your taste buds.

Our Products are available from a number of Deli’s across the Midlands, aswell as from several Farmer’s and Fine Food Markets.
